I think that if you want to truly escape BKK then you should head to Hua Hin it’s only an hour or so away and you can get there for 2,000 baht!

In HUa Hin you will truly find luxury wellness retreats like Chiva Som (expensive) but there are also many retreats for health, and spas etc that are quit cheap and have very good service.

In Bangkok you’re likely to find retreats that charge the same or more which aren’t really retreats! If you go that route I would say save your money and head to On Nut BTS station and you will find dozens of Thai massage shops that will give you a fantastic traditional or oil massage for a few hundred baht. You could even combine their spa treatments and massages and make your own retreat in Bangkok for far less than attending an “official” retreat.

But like I said, Hua Hin is the place to go to retreat from Bangkok, and I should know I have lived in BKK for years!

Thanks for yhe tips and agreed there are very good retreats in Hua Hin for detoxing but less for your traditional Thai spa services
